Whether it’s the glamour of the Edwardian era, the Mods and Rockers of the 60s, or the arts movement of recent years, Margate is a town with a fascinating social history. As part of the Margate Bookie literary festival we want you to tell us the town’s hidden secrets…and maybe some of your own.

Author Adrian Cross is curating Dreamland or Wasteland, a collection of stories about the UK’s finest seaside resort. Regale him with your true tales of memorable events, fun, scandal, crime, culture, chance encounters, local characters, old times, modern times, crazy times. We want to collect as wide a variety of stories as possible.

To get involved, you can email your story to adriancross66@gmail.com before the festival. Alternatively turn up at one of the drop-in events below and Adrian will record your recollections, which will be written up ready for inclusion in the anthology.
