Telling the story of Margate’s flotsam, washed up at the Turner Contemporary – the migrants, dispossessed and disadvantaged. Ranged across the gallery you encounter our flotsam at the margins of sea and shore, whose stories are told in their native tongues, in spoken word, music and movement. Featuring Faber published poet and novelist Steve Tasane, local artist Will Collett, world class musicians Davide Stramaglia (piano), Sabina Virtosu (violin), Mosi Conde (kora), Rosemary Yung (pipa), the project directed by Isabel White, founder of Alarms & Excursions. New names to be added to the list soon. This autumn, our team will be working with Kent Refugee Action Network and Adult Services to create stories and artwork for the event.
