We’ve all got a favourite childhood story we loved growing up. And for those of us that never grew up, they’re still that go-to story on those special occasions of memories and nostalgia.

As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of World Book Day, Margate Bookie asked its incredible team what their cherished children’s books are and why.

After a hugely successful first run Margate Bookie’s Writing Journey is back. The series of six writing workshops give young people not in education or training high quality tutoring from highly respected local writers. Running from Tuesday 2 November to Tuesday 9 December, 12-2pm via Zoom, the programme is curated by Sam Gayton, the children’s author who’s been looking after the young people’s programme at Margate Bookie for a number of years.
