The fantastic comedian and author Rosie Wilby took us into our Friday evening at the June Bookie. We catch up with her as she shares more about her latest book The Breakup Monologues and how her event went.
What’s The Breakup Monologues all about?
The Breakup Monologues is my second book and follows many years of research into the psychology of love. It weaves this research in with breakup stories from friends and fellow comedians, and my own personal journey as I try to use what I’ve learned to help me stay in a relationship at last. That lasts?

How did The Breakup Monologues come about?
The book is partly inspired by a trilogy of comedy shows that I toured around the world. The final part was a show called The Conscious Uncoupling, which was all about my breakup story. When others started sharing their stories with me after the show, I decided to set up The Breakup Monologues podcast. Then it made sense to develop into a book too.

How did it go?
It was really fun to be a part of the festival. A few old friends from the comedy circuit turned up and I signed quite a few copies of The Breakup Monologues. Apparently the lesbian sauna scene was a particular highlight for some.
